You all, everybody!
It's been a long and interesting summer. And now it's over. I almost feel obligated to make some remark about my negative feelings toward the end of the season, but I'm honestly ready for it to be over. It was everything it needed to be, and it is complete.
So, here's what I've been up to:
I decided to stay in Olympia for the summer. I kept my job as a nanny and lived in my friends' living room. I worked my way through two pseudorelationships, one with one of my roommates and one with a former newspaper coworker. The latter gave me a dog. She's a Jack Doodle named Monster-- my new best friend. She's a beast. I did a lot of writing and finished a few drafts of a some new scripts-- a full length light-hearted drama (Among Things Forgotten) and a one act knee-slapper (This Turkey's To Die For!).
And here's what I'm doing now:
I'm keeping the nanny job because it makes me feel like a super hero... and a girl needs to feel like a super hero once in a while. I'm taking 20 credits this quarter, 16 of which come from directing Pygmalion (not The Curious Savage, as originally planned), the other 4 from French. I currently hold a position in two student organizations-- I'm a head honcho for Riot To Follow (the theater company), and I'm the newspaper's Campus Life editor. I'm also cast in a handful of films. Woo! Is there enough caffeine in the world to support Jane Adams? We shall see!
Because the above is so ridiculous, I've decided that I'm going to go back to doing an art a day. I'll need a daily ritual. Stay fucking tuned!
